Super Bowl LVII and Insurance
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!
Go Birds! Of course this year we’re rooting for our home team, the Eagles, to win the 2022 Season Super Bowl! While we’re all gearing up for the big game, grabbing our hot wings and six packs, making your world-famous buffalo chicken dip and themed mocktails, we’ve been thinking about how the lessons and strategies on the field relate to what insurance can mean for our policyholders.
Bundling
We often see a variety of halftime performers coupled together like Dre, Snoop, Eminem, Kendrick and Mary J Blige in LVI’s show, or Shakira and J Lo in LIV’s show. This year we have Rihanna and maybe a surprise guest. The point is, the shows are about packing as much entertainment and value into one thing. Your insurance works the same way. We often see hundreds of dollars of savings per year when people bundle their home, auto, and umbrella policies with the same company. It’s an easy way to make sure you’re getting the best value for your insurance.
Winning/Saving Money
One of the most exciting parts of the Super Bowl, for some, is all the different bets you can make. What will be the outcome of the coin toss? What color Gatorade will be poured on the winning coach? How many touchdowns will there be? How many commercials will have X in them? Who will win? The sheer volume of possible bets means there’s always a way to win money. With bets and winning in the insurance industry, it’s discounts and savings. Are you a better-than-average driver? Are you a good student? Do you have a safer, or more green vehicle? The beauty of discounts is that you can stack and stack, so if you make the right moves, you can end up with hefty savings.
Planning and Strategy
We see players go through multiple different scenarios through their playbook to get to their winning outcome, the same is done with your insurance. There is always a solution for a problem you might be having with your insurance. You might be offered a better auto rate with one carrier, but a higher homeowners rate with that company, but the exact opposite is true with a different carrier. Your agent is responsible for creating and maintaining the best possible policy for your needs.
Revamping/Overhauling
We see teams rise and fall in their successes. Sometimes a coach moves teams, like Andy Reid from the Eagles to the Chiefs. Sometimes players are traded. Sometimes the team that was on the top falls to the bottom, and has to find it’s way back up. The same is in the insurance industry. Rates change all the time, and no carrier is immune to it. While some companies offer loyalty discounts, that might not always offset their rate increases, and it just might make sense to jump carriers. We definitely recommend reevaluating your insurance coverages and rates every few years. That’s why it’s important to work with a brokerage agency, so they can shop your insurance through multiple different carriers and point you in the direction that’ll put you back on top.
At the Ondik Agency, we’re here to help protect what matters. But now…let’s gear up for the game!
