Let’s Ride! Motorcycle Insurance
With the days getting nicer and the wind feeling oh-so-good riding with the windows down, there’s one thing on some of our minds: when can I ride my bike? Well, the simple answer is: anytime, if you’re covered.
There are lots of reasons why you might want to really consider motorcycle insurance, aside from just the fact that you have a bike ready to go. Does your town look out for riders? Are your neighbors cutting their grass way too much and blowing it onto the road? Did your premium go up all of a sudden?
Here are some things we’ll ask before looking for your perfect coverage:
Motorcycle insurance is a lot like car insurance, with both property and liability coverage. But, it differs, and the average premium rate is based on a full year of coverage, not six months. This is made with the (understandable) idea in mind that you just won’t be able to ride it year round. So, while your premium may look different at first, remember it’s really not going to be that much year round, only during the months when you’ll be riding it. We’ll want to know how often you plan to ride it.
Most policies offer coverage for custom parts. I mean, c’mon, one of the best parts of owning a bike is making it your own. Should something happen to it, the insurance companies understand that you’ll want to make it whole in your eyes again. We’ll want to know if you’ve already done anything custom to it.
The coverages we recommend might vary a lot depending on where you’ll be riding mainly. Will you be in a city, where there’s a higher chance of bumping into someone without their own insurance? Will you be in a wooded area where you might lose control and run into a tree or off a cliff? The terrain you like to ride in will help us know what coverages would work best for you and your needs.
More and more people are looking to get their bikes ready for the warm summer rides ahead. We’re to help protect what matters, and make your ride more “easy” on your wallet.
